Hello my Flufferschnoots! What started for me as an excuse to read you some poems spiraled into a jaunt through early human history, ending up somewhere around 2300BCE.

This took so long to produce! I'm not even sure when I started on it (early May?). I originally just wanted to read some poetry lol. Then I felt obligated to explain what was going on and it became "eh lets turn it into a mini-history lesson".

There's a lot of arm-chair historians out there and I have no desire to debate any topics or facts. I'm calling it A Speculative History of Poetry to avoid any "um actually" comments lol. My research took me to interesting places and I learned a lot! For me, that's was the best part.

The poetry readings were surprisingly not that difficult. I thought I would struggle over my dyslexia but I managed to do it all in a single take. Enheduanna's works were tough, I had to redo lines several times. Egypt has a lot of interesting poetry but most of it is in the centuries following Mesopotamia, so expect more of it in pt2 along with really cool historical works like Gilgamesh.

Special thanks to RaspberryFoxy for making the art piece for me! Being able to work with someone on a creative project like this is such a treat that never gets dull. I love artists so much. 💚

Hope you liked this one!
